06.13.2009 - "Beautiful Kate" Debuts at the Sydney Film Festival
We recently received some good news about the premier of "Beautiful Kate", a movie directed by Rachel Ward and starring Rachel Griffiths, Bryan Brown, Ben Mendelsohn, and Sophie Lowe. Why is this such good news? Because our firm was retained by the production company to provide a Second Life set for inclusion in the film. At EDG we take our commitments to our business partners and commercial tenants very seriously, which is why we are very selective about the SL publications and advertisers we choose for our promotions. 01.18.2009 - EDG Offices Get a New Look for 2009!
To welcome in the new year with style, we decided to celebrate the completion of our island Inspiration Cove with a badly needed makeover of our offices at EDG. Lucky for us, we are very fortunate to be partnered with a skilled and gifted interior designer, Chan Dejavu of Chan Dejavu Designs. Chan was able to provide us with a beautifully tasteful, elegant and welcoming environment that makes going to work feel more like being at home. Drop by and see our new look when you have some time! 07.15.2008 - EDG Holds the Grand Opening of Inspiration Cove
To celebrate the opening of our island Inspiration Cove to the public, EDG held a week long celebration with art, music, and fireworks. The event was a blast, and the incredible talent we were lucky enough to showcase was a real treat. The 'Inspiration Cove Art Festival' included works in a variety of media including paint, photography, computer generated art, and sculptures. Our featured artists were:

06.23.2008 - EDG is "Bringing Reality to The Virtual World" at SL5B
EDG is pleased to announce their participation in Second Life's 5th anniversary celebration. Encore Design Group has created a demonstration that contrasts and compares what happens when a build is enhanced through the use of texturing, lighting, shading, sounds, and scripting. The enhanced and unenhanced builds have been set up as mirrors to each other in order to allow easier visualization of the changes that can be made to bring realism to the enhanced build. 05.20.2008 - Construction Begins in Inspiration Cove
You may have noticed the new screenshot on our site. This is just a glimpse of what's going on at Inspiration Cove, where we are busy building out our new island home. We have painted ourselves into the corner of the island for the time being, but we anticipate holding our grand opening very soon. We will keep you posted on our progress and be making our formal announcement within the next couple of months. Stay tuned for further updates!
11.17.2007 - New Moliman Headquarters Grand Opening
After a substantial amount of remodeling, we were pleased to finally celebrate the opening of our main office in Moliman. Festivities included contests, tours, and a live acoustic performance by . The new build features a series of slideshows of our creations around SL, information about our services, and our shops (where you can often find merchandise used in or inspired by our projects.) 10.25.2007 - EDG's Hanging Gardens of Ancient Babylon Build Featured On NBC's "The Office"!
Viewers of NBC's hit comedy were introduced to Second Life via a storyline that had character Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) exploring various locations in SL. Dwight eventually creates his own alternate reality "Second Second Life," based out of the Second Life sim Mesopotamia. Sands Development Group, the owner of the Mesopotamia region, had commissioned EDG to create The Hanging Gardens of Ancient Babylon there last year. Here are some screen captures of the broadcast. 10.19.2007 - EDG Invited to Participate in the 2007 Virtual Business Services & Products Expo sponsored by depo Consulting.
EDG was recently invited to be an exhibitor in the "2007 Virtual Business Services & Products Expo," the first virtual content developers' trade show in SL. , who graciously hosted the event explained, "the goal of the expo is to bring content developers together in one place where they can network with each other and possibly form new collaborative connections".
